Remaps & ECUs

Stand Alone

An ECU, PCM, DME or whatever a certain manufacturer calls theirs is basically the computer that controls the running of the engine and features associated with it.

A Stand Alone ECU is an aftermarket version of this that completely replaces the original one. You can run and aftermarket unit alongside an original when you don't need all the control available and this is known as a "piggy back" setup.

An aftermarket ECU is needed when you want more control and adjustment than the original can give you, extra functions such as anti lag, boost control, launch control, flat shift, converting from a MAF to MAP sensor setup, going from carburettor to injection, distributor to COP and also when you've changed the engine and the factory immobiliser or crossing marques makes a standard one is incompatible.

We have the flexibility to run just about any engine in any vehicle !

Link PlugIn ECUs totally replace the original factory ECU, in the original location. Fast install, full engine management, tuning solution!

Link Plug-In ECUs provide a straight forward way to gain full control over your engine functions, whilst still keeping the stock appearance & wiring of the car’s original engine control unit.

Where possible, the factory enclosure is reused and a replacement board is supplied which the installer swaps for the original factory board inside the original enclosure. Where this is not possible due to the design of the factory ECU, the Link ECU is supplied in a full or partial replacement enclosure.

ECU Calibration & Chip Tuning

Most modern vehicles contain an ECU (or Engine Control Unit) that is effectively a small computer which controls how the engine works. Vehicle manufacturers de-tune the engine by setting the software on the ECU to default before sending the vehicle out.

This is done due to the manufacturers having to sell their cars all over the world, this means that the software settings on the ECU must take into account different climates, laws & restrictions and varying quality of fuels. Vehicle remapping is basically the modification/replacement of the manufactures default software on a vehicles ECU.

We offer a range of tuning options, including Chip Tuning. Chip tuning refers to changing or modifying an erasable programmable read only memory chip in an automobile's or other vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU) to achieve superior performance, whether it be more power, cleaner emissions, or better fuel efficiency. Our mechanics can get the most from your vehicle and are happy to discuss your needs.

Why choose vehicle remapping?

There are many reasons to choose vehicle remapping. Firstly, you will notice that your engine responds better when the accelerator is pressed. The overall torque and power will be noticeably increased. Power delivery will be smoother making for a much safer driving experience, which in turn also makes it easier and safer to overtake. During normal driving you will notice that your MPG is better which not only decreases the cost of fuel that you will have to pay, but it also minimises your carbon foot print. Throttle response will be improved and the rev range will be enhanced.
